A 28 year old man identified as Salimu Kibirango a resident of Entebbe was last week sentenced to two months in Jail at Kigo prisons for violating Entebbe Zoo laws.
Entebbe Magistrates court sentenced Kibirango a boda boda to two months in jail for encroaching on the privacy of animals at the wild life Education centre. The incident took place on Tuesday July 29th at UWEC when Kibirango intentionally broke a glass snakes shelter that was worth Shs.10M according to officials at UWEC.
Asked why he encroached on the snakes privacy, he said that he wanted to prove to people that he wasn’t a coward and didn’t fear snakes but to his surprise his mission ended badly when a rhino attacked him after he also encroached on it’s privacy, he sustained some injuries in the lower abdomen and was later rushed to Grade B for treatment.
He kept laughing sarcastically in court which annoyed the magistrate.
