Pupils of Nkumba Day and Boarding primary school in Katabi Town Council have been encouraged to remain focused, resilient and determined to perform well in class room work as well as excel in life.
This was the key message from Rev.Father Herman Mukasa Zziwa, the Chaplin of Nkumba University in his sermon during the blessing mass for primary seven candidates on Sunday, 15th October 2023.

Rev. Fr. Zziwa called upon the collective task of parents, teachers and the individual pupils in achieving a wholesome responsible human-being.
“It is one thing to pass examinations and another to excel in life. We urge the pupils to perfect both. This always comes with the support of all stakeholders; parents, teachers and everybody” Rev. Fr. Zziwa who also hinted about the thorough preparations of the pupils stated.

One hundred fifty-five P7 pupils of Nkumba primary school have today been blessed during the mass to bless them in preparation for the examinations.
Diligence is the main catch phrase that head mistress Oliver Kazinda Wasswa has specially stressed to the pupils prior to this crucial examinations moment as she lauded the alumni in all their endeavors as they school strives to reclaim the past glory days in education, sports, music and other extra-circular activities.

“I thank the alumni for always standing with the school. Our P7 pupils have had a blessing mass and I thank the Reverand Father for the service. We are on a campaign to restore the glory of Nkumba Day and Boarding primary school” Kazinda remarked.
The school alumni association led by Godfrey Ssekisonge (1987) partook in the organization of the day’s celebrations with the 2022 best pupil Elijah Suuubi rewarded with Shs 1,000,000 by Ezra Nayoga (class 1991) for the individual brilliance.

The celebrations were spiced with special moving testimonies, dining, wining, cake cutting as well as special dance from pupils and teachers.
Nationally, primary seven candidates will write their final examinations on the 7th and 8th next month.
